Some refer to it as "strategy" - we call it Rationale. Strategy is what defines us. Once we learn about you and your needs, we (quite literally) go back to the drawing board and hash out a plan. We use digital as the foundation, and build from there, incorporating any media or technical platform that is appropriate (yes, we can do that).
Facilitating interaction and engagement with your brand in a digital landscape can be a bit complex, but it's our job to sort all of that out for you. We consider ourselves émigrés from the traditional agency model. We are experts who thrive on innovation, collaboration and creativity (and sometimes a whole lot of coffee and tea) and we truly enjoy what we do.

Meet the founders:
Lewis Smithfounder / creative director
Lewis has served as Vice President of Design for AdPlex, a full- service design and printing company in Houston where he also started one of the first Scitex digital pre-press systems in North America, in 1982, then went on to do editorial illustration and Scitex digital pre-press production for New York Newsday. Later owned and operated Studio Gallo, a print and digital design firm from 1989 – 2000. From 2000 – 2006 started and directed website design and development for Toolbox Studios, and from 2006 – 2010 started and directed website design and development for The Atkins Group. March 1, 2010 co-founded Rationale Digital Agency.
Andrew Morelandfounder / technical director
Andrew graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio, College of Business with a BBA in Information Systems giving him an excellent foundation in the diverse needs of businesses and the tools required to meet them. His experience spans the spectrum from web application development to specialized technical IT support. Well seasoned in information systems design and analysis, Andrew's expertise in programming and database design is key to our custom, online solutions resulting in stable and robust applications that give our clients the ability to leverage the internet to accomplish business goals efficiently and effectively.
Chris Alvarezfounder / interactive director
Chris understands the complexities of communication in the digital universe. Balancing client needs with user expectations, he ensures the client is maximizing their investment by applying a digital rationale to his projects. With a full range of capabilities and disciplines including user interface design, social media integration, copy development, design and interactive programming, Chris is typically involved with all phases of a project, making sure the end product is effective, easy to interact with and exactly what the client needs.
